= First Dutch edition of this popular and often reprinted children's book, which is in fact a mathematics schoolbook (first publ. Stuttg., 1847). The plates, each consisting of 3 or 2 horizontal strips w. images showing objects that young children could recognize, teach the children to count, to add and subtract, to combine, to name colours and forms etc. Lust en leering p.163-165 (erroneously calling for a title-p. and 29 plates), referring to this and another Dutch edition of two works by Bohny: "antiquarisch gesproken witte olifanten. (...)". Cf. Rümann 53, Wegehaupt II,374 and Bilderwelt im Kinderbuch 1985.
WITH a facsimile reprint of the English edition of 1858.
