= Friendly letter, i.a. apologizing for the delay of his answer and thanking Van Royen for sending him the brochure of Oostersch, published by the Kunera Pers. "(...) Mag ik U hierbij een boekje toezenden wat ik eenigen tijd geleden bij Stols liet drukken, met houtsneden van John Buckland Wright? Ongetwijfeld zult U vele defecten kunnen opmerken; o.a. leent zich het papier niet zoo goed voor het effen zwart der illustraties en is te doorschijnend. De exx. op oud Japansch - waarvan ik er echter helaas geen meer over heb - vormen, vind ik, een zeker charmante plaquette (...). Daar ik het niet de moeite waard vond voor deze kleine, niet in de handel zijnde oplage copyright aan te vragen, verzoek ik de naam van de drukker, illustrator & uitgever geheim te houden (...)".
