= Kuchi-e, literally translated as "mouth pictures", were woodcut illustrations produced in the 1890s through 1910s, meant for books and magazines. These prints - often of high quality - were bound to the spine or inserted into the book/ magazine, and served to illustrate what kind of stories were written within.
- A vertical narrow hole on the edge between the left and middle section; a few other tiny holes.
- A few sm. holes; fine impressions.
- Browned; a few closed holes and a large tear in lower section.
Anonymous (18th cent.). (A woman stepping into a foot bath, with her female parts reflecting in the water). Col. woodcut hashira-e, 59x11,5 cm., signature(?) on a piece of paper hanging from the ceiling.
- Laid down under passepartout; various creases; agetoned and sl. soiled.
= Perhaps Kiyonaga or Katsukawa Shuncho.
- Sl. foxed.
= He stands in front of a Tsuitate partition screen with Yatsuhachi motif and moves a puppet of the pretty Sakuramaru.
