- First print w. closed marginal and 2 larger tears; both prints w. closed central vertical tear on fold.

= The artist is only known for the 4 circular prints he made for the alchemist treatise by Heinrich Khunrath, Amphitheatrum sapientiae aeternae (Hamburg, 1595). The first edition is still without the double-page plates and the circular engravings are with a large border with a copious text. Caillet 5747 (mentioning the Hanau edition of 1609). "La Planche qui représente Khunrath entouré de ses ennemis (...) manque dans presque tous les exemplaires. Il en est de mème pour les 2 tableaux synoptiques de Kabbale synthétisée (...)". On laid paper with a coat of arms showing a castle with a fish below its gate and a monogram "HR" (found on paper used in 1604 in Celle). SEE ILLUSTRATION PLATE CVIII.

Anonymous (early 17th cent.). (Symbolic landscape with large rock "pyramidum" containing a alchemist text). Engraving, 28x32,5 cm., "M.DC.II" (1602) in the plate.
