- Doubled; sl. browned; a few stains (mainly) in blank margins.
- Left margin and corners sl. creased and sl. stained.

- Browned. = With large "Pro patria" watermark.
- Brown stain near left edge; w. diagonal folds; w. a grid to transfer or enlarge the composition.
= Perhaps a design for a wall decoration. Somewhat reminiscent in the style of Claude-Joseph Vernet.
- Soiled; upper edge frayed.
- Sl. browned/ foxed. = Perhaps by Jan de Beijer or H.P. Schouten. SEE ILLUSTRATION PLATE CXXII.
- Tipped onto mount together with 2 sm. 18th cent. engr. views of the same castle (1x foxed).
= The untitled drawing on recto shows a view of the front of the castle and the (titled and dated) drawing on verso probably shows the view from the castle onto the surrounding countryside. Batenburg Castle (in Gelderland) was destroyed by the French in 1794 and never rebuilt. Provenance: collection C.A. Hiebendaal (Ubbergen). SEE ILLUSTRATION PLATE CXXII.
- Verso traces of former mounting and some carefully restored thin spots; a few tiny holes.
= On paper w. unidentified fleur de lys watermark. Verso w. attrib. in pencil to Jacob de Wit.
- Trifle yellowed/ foxed; a few vague creases.
- Upper part waterst. and sl. mouldy (mostly visible on verso), affecting sky area and blank margin.
= Fine view of the Crimean peninsula. SEE ILLUSTRATION PLATE CXXIII.
- Creases; soiled and w. a few sm. (closed) holes. = Slightly naïve but charming drawing.
- Laid down; sm. restoration in lower right corner; darkened along margins.
= Attractive view. Various more or less identical copies of this drawing are known (both in mirrored and unmirrored version and both in watercolour or in engraving), see i.a. the Koninklijk Zeeuwsch Genootschap der Wetenschappen, ZI-II-0593.
- With later added margins; sl. soiled along edges.
= Small sketch in red chalk on verso. On passepartout an attribution to Charles Chaplin.

= On laid paper with coat of arms with French Lily and monogram "LVG".

= On wove paper with an attribution in pencil on verso: "waarschijnlijk H. Scholten" (but probably not). Perhaps by Carel Lodewijk Hansen.
- Foxed; cut on/ just outside the lower borderline. = With a small part of the drawing copied in pencil on verso.
- A few ruststains in margin.
Michels, T. (1908-1981). "Jongen en profil". Oil on canvas, 63,5x53,5 cm., signed "T. Michels" in lower left corner, signed "Michels" and titled in ballpoint on verso of frame, framed.
- Small repaired spot. Frame sl. dam.

= Delicate drawing showing two women in local Italian costume.
Loon, G. van (19th cent.). (Italian harbour view). Drawing, pencil and scratches, 12x25 cm., "St Christofero", on grey tinted stiff paper, signed "G. van Loon fecit" on verso. Anonymous (early 19th cent.). (Farm houses near Soest). Drawing, pen and ink and watercolour, 18x25 cm., signed "A: (illegible) man 1804" and "Te Soest N.4" on verso. - AND 9 other drawings, i.a. a view of Arnhem (signed "A.H.J. Kruseman"), a view "Santa Lucia à Napoli 1844" (pencil, monogrammed) and a watercolour showing a beach scene attributed to W. GORE OUSELEY.

= Perhaps the island of Tory, Ireland. The drawing below shows perhaps a pier from mainland Donegal to Tory.

= Rotterdam amateur artist.
Trigt-Hoevenaar, C.C.J. van (1854-1924). (View of the Maas, Rotterdam). Drawing, black chalk, 15,5x22 cm., monogrammed "CvTH".
= Cornelia van Trigt-Hoevenaar made an etching after this design. Or perhaps a drawing after the etching.
