both covers w. central floral ornament surrounded by 3 identical gilttooled floral borders, w. fleurons in corners of central border pointing both inwards and outwards, gilt spine w. 5 raised bands w. star-shaped fleuron in compartmens, 4to. - ON: Alphabetische Naamlijst der Etswerken van Hollandsche en Vlaamsche Schilders Bijéén verzameld door C. Ouboter van der Grient. Manuscript in pen and ink, n.pl., n.d., (58) lvs., all ruled in pencil.
- Backcover/ top of spine has some light wear. Very fine and attractive binding.
= On the binding: the border decoration points to either the Paupers Orphanage Bindery or the Putto bindery, but the remarkable corner fleurons and star-shaped ornaments on the spine could not be traced. Cornelis Ouboter van der Grient (1797-1868), Dutch artist, chiefly painted town views, landscapes, interiors and historical scenes. Nothing could be traced on his collection of graphic artworks catalogued in this volume. The catalogue is divided into 3 sections: Dutch etchers, European etchers and artists who made mezzotints and aquatints. SEE ILLUSTRATION PLATE XC.
