- Lower corners repaired; somewhat soiled.
= The dark brown lines (mostly indicating leaves) seem to have been added later and perhaps by a different artist. As well as the herdsman and sheep, drawn in metal pen in the background. The drawing reminds us of the works by Johan (de) Lagoor and Cornelis Hendricksz. Vroom. SEE ILLUSTRATION PLATE CXIV.

= Provenance: the collection of A.M. van den Broek with his collector's mark on verso. With an annotation by Van den Broek on verso "Hendrik Pola fecit 1718". It is not clear from where he derived this note.

= With the collector's mark of H.C. Valkema Blouw on recto (Lugt 2505) and on verso an almost erased manuscript collector's mark (unread).

= From the Ullmann collectio with the collector's mark on verso. Somewhat in the style of Abraham Genoels II (1640-1723).

- Chafed spots (nibbled by silverfish?) along attached parts; vertical fold in centre; dustsoiled.
= Large allegorical scene with manuscript texts on shields, i.a. "Moed. Trouw. Beleid". With manuscript text below: "De waarheid vertrapt" and "al haar doen scheen voor het algemeen, maar het was voor hun alleen."

= With the watermark of D & C Blaauw (coat of arms with horn, below monogram D&C B) (1750-1782).
- Laid down on board; heavily yellowed.
- Ink trifle faded; sl. yellowed; a few vague foxed spots; tiny closed tear in outer margin; tiny closed hole in upper right part.
= Possibly St. Francis or Anthony of Padua.
- Foxed; cut on the borderline on left side. = With attribution to Jean-Baptiste Oudry on verso.
- Some brown soiling/ sl. foxing in left half; some old handling creases.
= On thick laid paper.
