= Concerning conditions for publishing bibliophile editions of Reve's work: "Mijn voorwaarden (...) zijn altijd de volgende: "De helft van de oplage voor de uitgever, de andere helft voor de auteur (elk van beide partijen verwerft daarbij hetzij alle oneven, hetzij alle even nummers.) De auteur ontvangt daarbij geen geldelijk honorarium. Voorts moet uitdrukkelijk schriftelijk worden overeengekomen: dat geen enkele overdracht van rechten plaatsvindt behalve die voor de onderhevige editie; dat geen enkel ongenummerd exemplaar hoe dan ook, in circulatie komt of blijft bestaan." In the second letter Reve demands from Van Dijk that he returns all pirate texts by Reve in his possession: "Ons is nu gebleken, dat u meerdere piratenedities van Reve teksten bezit, en daarvan moeten wij de eis stellen, dat u ons deze roofdrukken direkt toezendt. Wij hopen dat u zulks binnen tien dagen zult doen, Tevens eisen wij een brief, waarin u zich verbindt, nimmer meer enige roofdruk te zullen afnemen."
