= Fine caustic letter apparently in response to a complaint by a budding writer why his contribution had not yet been published: "(...) Gij noemt u "letterkundige" maar blijbaar is het u toch altijd onbekend gebleven dat aan een tijdschrift de ingezonden stukken naar gelang van inkomst worden behandeld tenzij er door actualiteit van den inhoud als anderszins grote haast snel de plaatsing noodzakelijk mocht zijn. Daar nu uw stuk, een soort van modernisering van een middeleeuwsch dichtstuk, natuurlijk niets actueels heeft moest dit op behandeling blijven wachten (...) Buitendien kwaamt[?] gij mij een dienst vragen, nl u mijn oordeel over uw arbeid te zeggen. Daar gij dit niet in acht neemt, maar u integendeel gedraagt, als iemand, die een gunst bewijst, zal het maar het beste zijn, dat ik u uw letterkundige poging bij deze weer ongelezen toekomen doe.
