Anno" (etched bird's eye view of the siege of the city, from GUICCIARDINI, early 17th cent. (slightly waterst.; Guiccardini Illustratus 1.2) and "Graef ahn der Mase" (from D. MEISNER, Thesaurus philopoliticus or Politisches Schatzkästlein, early 17th cent.).

= Shows the renovated dike running east from the mouth of the Vecht river and the Muiderslot along the Zuiderzee, with three cross-sections of the dike. The old dike was found damaged by sea worms, which led to a fortification of the seawall with stone. Donkersloot-de Vrij, Vechtstreek 30; not in Van den Brink (cf. no. 20 for the projected dyke). Rare.
