As Aldus writes in his preface addressed to Marcus Antonius Maurocenus (Marcantonio Morosini) (the owner of the manuscript used by Aldus for this edition), he has published it in a portable format that is easier to handle than the larger 4to and folio tomes in which the classics were usually published.
