= Van Geluwe created fictional institutions, such as The Museum of Museums. These envelopes are part of this art project. Some envelopes contain fictitious contributions, including giro donations.
- Yellowed. = Very rare and early engraving.
- Some offsetting from passepartout.
= Very rare. It appears that this is a later (unknown?) state, not mentioned by De Groot. The sky in the right upper corner is filled in with horizontal lines; various lines on the branches have been strengthened; extra branches have been added, especially along the left and right side. And most small lines and scratches between the trees and large branches are removed. De Groot P23: "'Zo schilderde hij de hoge eikengroep aan de grens van het Oranjewoud. Een ets van deze eiken, op zink begonnen mislukte vrijwel. Nog was hij van die techniek niet volkomen zeker' [quote from p.31 of A. Mankes-Zernike etc., Jan Mankes (1923)] Deze prent bestaat dus waarschijnlijk alleen in enkele proefdrukken". SEE ILLUSTRATION PLATE XXXIII.
= Posthumously printed by Toon WEGNER from the original block. De Groot P40: "Na de verhuizing naar Eerbeek in september 1916 wandelde Mankes erg veel in de bossen. Op 'n avond was hij uit 't bosch thuisgekomen met een egel in zijn zakdoek. Achter de warme kachel met 'n zure appel als lokaas had 't dier zijn fijne snuit uit de stekels gestoken. Hij 'riep' om een houtsnee zei Jan en liet hem niet vergeefs roepen."
