= The 9 works, each ±29x21 cm., show various interpretations of the microscope (which is assembled in a compartment of the frame): (1) a realistic pencil sketch; (2) a rough pencil sketch of the shape; (3) a pencil sketch of a man smoking a cigarette in the shape of the microscope; (4) a more detailed sketch of the same man; (5) an original linocut plate of the man; (6) a second original linocut plate of the man; (7) a print in grey of the second linocut plate; (8) a print in black of the first linocut plate; (9) a finished print in black and grey of both linocut plates together. A remarkable work of art.
