The embossed banana leaves on the cover refer to Matsu Bashô (bashô means 'Japanese fiber banana'), who played a major part in popularising haikai poetry.

- Tatsu: a few pinholes and one sm. wormhole on the left margin; Inu: two sm. (8-10 mm. and 3-4 mm.) horizontal tears in the righ margin; Hitsuji: three sm. wormholes on the left margin; all otherwise fine.
