= On the conflict between the city council and the local protestant church in Utrecht. The conflict arose when the government confiscated the properties of the bishopric of Utrecht after the Reformation. The Utrecht church leaders believed that the church was entitled to a share of the income and proceeds from those assets. It developed into a question about the status of the church in comparison to the wordly government. The city council, with the help of the States of Utrecht, pressured the church in submission which resulted in the banishment of the preachers Johannes Teellinck en Abraham van de Velde.

Curious and interesting list of the lost and looted items and damages (and their individual and total net worth) of Utrecht citizens during the patriotic revolt and the suppression by the Prussian troops in 1787. All citizens of Utrecht were called to deliver lists with looted items and damages caused by the Prussian troops to the so-called "commissie van de boetens en schadens". I.a. a list by the widow Anthony Oege who lost i.a. a watch, "zilvere beugeltas", "agt linnen hembden", "twaalf kinder luijers", "strijkijzer", "een catoen jak", with a total worth of 156 guilders (p.58f).
