= Very accomplished and detailed drawings of plants found in Utrecht and surroundings, often with finding places. No specific Dutch botanical artist named "Heyl" could be traced by us, the only possible contender would be landscape painter/ draughtsman "Marinus Heyl" (1836-1931), but no botanical drawings by his hand could be traced, and no reference is made to any activity of M. Heyl in Utrecht on the RKD website. SEE ILLUSTRATION PLATE CVI.

- Portion of upper left corner repaired and redrawn; sl. unevenly browned and dustsoiled; vertical central fold.
- Occas. sl. foxed; several drawings sl. yellowed (1x w. small tear).
= The accomp. manuscript description also frequently lists finding places. Attractive drawings by several anonymous British artists, showing the butterflies perched on or flying around (flowering) branches, often also with their appearance as caterpillar. SEE ILLUSTRATION PLATE CVII.

In 1767 vervaardigde Cats onder meer een tweetal ontwerpen voor Pieter van Wijler ten behoeve van de behangsels in diens huis Keizersgracht 152". SEE ILLUSTRATION PLATE CVIII.

AND 2 other small drawings showing French soldiers by unidentified artists.
= A drawing by Cooke, also dated July 1841 and depicting a view near Nieuwersluis (near Amsterdam), was sold at auction in 1999.
AND 5 others, i.a. three rural views by W.H. KLIJN.
- With "74" in centre; sm. closed hole in left margin.

= Title and attribution in pen on mount. Provenance: the collection of Hans van Leeuwen (sold at auction 1992-1999, lot 279, with title: "Travellers on a wooded road") and, according to a note on the passepartout, purchased at Pfann (Amsterdam in 1957). Another annot. on passepartout suggesting Willem Uppink might be the artist.
= From the collection of Hans van Leeuwen with his collector's mark (Lugt 2799a), sold by Paul Brandt in 1975 and Sotheby's in 1989 (collection van der Meulen). SEE ILLUSTRATION PLATE CVII.
