= All issued in the "Favoriten-Serie" (10x in the English ("Favourites Series") edition), a series of gramophone records famous for their covers (in total the series consisted of 52 records), all featuring the model Ann Pickford, and the first to be produced in colour. The Dutch photographer Paul Huf was responsible for the photographic unity of the series and as a result was seen as responsible for both the blame and the fame of the series. Despite the reserve expressed by many in the music business, the sleeve designs set a new standard in the marketing business of gramophone records (see at length L. BOUDEWIJNS, Paul Huf Record Covers (incl. in this lot)).
