= Letter of condolence and sympathy on the death of the adressee's wife(?) ("uw lieve huischvrouwe onse waerde nighte"), also apologizing for being too caught up in daily affairs to be able to attend the funeral service. Andries Colvius (1594-1671) was a preacher in Dordrecht. An English translation of the entire text is provided in the lot. SEE ILLUSTRATION PLATE LVIII.

74/2312 [Noord-Holland]. Manuscript sentence concerning "hoffstede genaemt De Vlotter, gelegen in d'heerlicheyt van Marquette", pen and ink on vellum, dated 1659, recto only, embossed paper seal attached.

= In 1654 the servant of Isaac Hochepied, owner of the homestead 'De Vlotter', was being accused of forbidden hunting. Hochepied, as a nobleman, is qualified for hunting and in possession of the hunting license belonging to the homestead. Since the servant, Arjen Cornelisz., is his employee, the accusation should be annulled. The sentence of 1659 agrees with Hochepied.

AND 2 other manuscript documents, both pen and ink on paper: a proof of ownership, dated 1870 and a anonymous letter, dated 1934.

= Contains 6 deeds of transport, i.a. one in which Leendert van der Kruck and Catharina van Leeuwen have sold to Krijn van Rijn "een huijsmanswooninge met koe en paardestallinge, schuur, twee bargen en verder getimmerte daartoe en aangehoorende, met verscheijde parthijen weij off teelland" near Voorburg (1775), and a settlement between nobleman Balduyn van Rhooden and his cousin Aert Johan van Renoy in which the first requests a proces between him and his cousin to be ended, which would enable him to "eenmael ruste in sijnen hoogen ouderdom tot versorginge van sijn zyel en salichheyt te mogen genieten" (1644).

= "(...) vijf morgen zoo bouw als weijland" is being transported from Teuntje van Oostrum to Jacob Johan van Deelen, for a "Plegte van vier hondert gulden Capitaal ten behoeve van Juff[rouw]e de With". The land was situated between the property of the chapter of Sint Jan of Utrecht and that of Michael Reael, "Lakencoper". Well readible handwriting. Attractively framed. SEE ILLUSTRATION PLATE LIX.

74/2330 [Utrecht]. Manuscript charter regarding botanist Magdalena Poulle, pen and ink on vellum, dated 19 November 1683, recto only, (dam.) wax and embossed paper seal attached.

= In 1680, Magdalena Poulle, widow of merchant Adraen Daem, buys the ruin of Gunterstein in Breukelen and rebuilds the house. She starts to collect exotic plants and has a heated oranjerie (greenhouse) built, which makes her one of the first private collectors to have a modern greenhouse in which the plants survive the cold Dutch weather. In the deed of transport of 1683, a piece of land of the "huijse Ruwwiel" is sold to Magdalena Poulle, "Vrouwe van de ridderhoffstadt Gruntesteijn".
