= Nico Kotten was a Dutch illustrator who is known for his work on the pulp collection "Eclair".

= German artist and forger of World War II memorabilia Konrad Kujau gained notoriety as the author of the so called Hitler Diaries, which for some time were believed to be authentic. In 1983 Kujau sold the manuscripts to a journalist for 2.5 million DM, who in turn sold it to Stern Magazine for 9.3 million. When the diaries turned out to be forgeries, Kujau turned himself in and spent 3 years in jail. SEE ILLUSTRATION PLATE XLVI.

The book consists of short extracts from Hilter speeches on various occasions opposite the photo illustrating the same event. It is a very characteristic document of the boastful spirit of those early years of the Nazi régime". Rare.

= The Nationaal-Socialistische Nederlandsche Arbeiderspartij was founded in 1931 as the Dutch version of the NSDAP. During its existence, various rivaling factions of the party existed under the same name, each with their own party newspaper. Included in the lot are issues of De Nationaal-Socialist [continued as:] Het Nieuwe Volk (led by Ernst van Rappard) and De Nederlandsche Nationaal-Socialist (led by major C.J.A. Kruyt). The party was disbanded by the Germans in 1941.

= The NOC was established by Meinoud Rost van Tonningen in 1942 in order to economically exploit occupied Soviet territory. The enterprise wasn't very succesful: one of the very few products that ever reached the Dutch market was Ukrainian tobacco.

= Remarkable and subtle collaborationist propaganda periodical published by the National Socialists, ostensively as an illegal, satirical journal. One of the contributors to the periodical was Willy van der Heide (= W.H.M. van den Hout), better known as the author of the Bob Evers series (cf. Groeneveld, Zwaard van de geest, p.86).
