- Tipped onto mount together with 2 sm. 18th cent. engr. views of the same castle (1x foxed).

= The untitled drawing on recto shows a view of the front of the castle and the (titled and dated) drawing on verso probably shows the view from the castle onto the surrounding countryside. Batenburg Castle (in Gelderland) was destroyed by the French in 1794 and never rebuilt. Provenance: collection C.A. Hiebendaal (Ubbergen). SEE ILLUSTRATION PLATE CXXII.
