= On Queen's Day 1951, Godfried Bomans made a spectacular balloon flight together with balloonist Nini Boesman. The balloon departed at 5:00 PM from a festive hockey field in Bloemendaal but unfortunately ended in the sea instead of landing in the dunes, due to sudden gusts of wind. Bomans and Boesman could be rescued from drowning just in time by the Zandvoortse Reddingsbrigade. From the author's collection.
