= Haitsma Mulier/ Van der Lem 328e; De Buck 1393. Extensive and important collection of medieval and later chronicles, letters, travel journals, mainly in Dutch, otherwise in Latin. As mentioned on the title-page i.a. concerning "Res Germaniae, Gelriae, Hollandiae, Ultrajecti, Frisiae, tam Occidentalis, quam Orientalis, & Groningae; ut & Gesta Equestris Ordinis Teutonici, Dominorum de Brederode, de Culenburch, & de Arckel".
- One plate w. closed tear ("Gesigt van de Boterbrugge, en Engelse beurs"); fold of one of the armorial plates strengthened on verso; one textp. lacks sm. portion of lower blank margin. Otherwise contents (very) fine. Corners, joints and spine-ends sl. worn.
= Rare collection, giving an enticing survey of the fine manors and gardens of the rich 18th century noblemen and merchants of the Netherlands and showing Abraham Rademaker (1676/77-1735) at his best. All parts with title-p. in Dutch and French. SEE ILLUSTRATION PLATE CVI.
- Without the first part. Vellum w. deep horizontal cut on both covers and lacks part over frontcover.

- Lacks the portrait of Willem I; new endpapers; sm. stain in lower blank margin of first frontisp.; approx. 40 leaves w. receding dam. (dent) in lower blank margin; final leaf of first part and one leaf in second part w. restored tear in blank margin; second map sl. foxed and w. closed tear in inner margin. Vellum somewhat duststained. Despite the defects an attractive copy w. well thought out handcolouring entirely appropriate for this type of book.

= The first posthumous ed. of Newton's theological work. "It seems remarkable that a scientist could have written this theological study of abstruse prophecy, but Brewster says that Newton 'had been a searcher of the Scriptures from his youth, and he found it no abrupt transition to pass from the study of the material universe to an investigation of the profoundest truths, and the most obscure predictions, of Holy Writ (...). This ingenious work is characterized by great learning, and marked with the sagacity of its distinguished author.'" (Knight Babson, p.110).
- Lacks 3 preliminary leaves and the final 4 leaves; engr. title cut to the borderline and dam. (w. loss of image) in lower right corner; partly waterstained; fingersoiled/ duststained; a few sm. rustholes; partly cut short in lower margin affecting catchwords and quire signatures; new endpapers.
= Veldman, Profit and Pleasure p.33ff: "The Nieuwen ieucht spieghel [our title-p. reads "spiegel") is in fact a sequel to Van der Heyden's Jeucht-Spieghel (1610), which consists of 14 prints and letterpress Dutch poems by Zacharias Heyns, most of them warning agains rashness in affairs of the heart. With 232 pages and 49 prints, it is much larger than its forerunner. (...) De Passe was himself involved in the publication, and designed a frontispiece with a depiction of the five senses."
