(...). Bockenberg trachtte historieschrijver van Holland te worden, en werd dit in 1591, in weerwil van Dousa, die ijverig, maar vruchteloos, voor zijnen vriend Baudius om dezen post verzocht had." First part of a work Bockenberg meant to combine into a single large work on the History of Holland, Zeeland and Friesland, a work he never finished.
