- The titles and parts of the Voyages de Gulliver and of the Nouveau Gulliver are bound out of order: vol. 1 contains part 1 and 2 of the Voyages ((4),XIX,(1),252p.); vol. 4 contains part 3 and 4 of the Voyages ((4),271,(1)p.) but the title-p. to part 3 of the Nouveau Gulliver and the htitle to part 1 of the Nouveau Gulliver and the htitle to part 2 of the Voyages; vol. 2 contains the 1st and 2nd part of the Nouveau Gulliver ((4),214p.) but the title of the 3rd part of the Voyages; vol. 3 contains the 3rd and 4th part of the Nouveau Gulliver ((4),203,(1)p.). One quire in vol.1 sl. waterst. and loosening.

= Cf. Imaginary Voyages 94 (on the edition of 1722): "(...) sequel by the French translator of Swift. The stunning succes of Desfontaines' heavily bowdlerised 1727 translation of Swift's famous novel no doubt provided the impetus to this unofficial sequel. The fiction that it was translated from an original English text is exposed in the preface, where its relationship to Gulliver's Travels is said to be akin to that of Fénélon's Aventures de Telemaque with the Odyssey. As Gove comments, this is one of the very few works to use Gulliver as a model for imitation (unlike the endless array of Robinsonades, for instance) and thus occupies an important position in the history of Swift's novel."
