= A classic of mountaineering literature, recording the attempt in 1902 by Jacot Guillarmod and his team to climb K2 in the Karakorum. Although they were not succesful in their attempt, they reached an unprecented altitude of 5700 meters and researched a large area that was uncharted by Europeans till then.
