The first part was written by Jan van der Groen, private gardener of Prince William of Orange, the second part was written by Pieter Nylandt, well-known Amsterdam physician and pharmacist, dealing with the work that has to be done in the garden each month.
- Vols. fine and clean.
= Nicely illustrated work treating the history and bibliography of over 1500 botanical, horti- and silvicultural books, printed in the UK from the 16th to the 19th century.
= All lvs. dated and w. indication of the specific location where the herbal matter was gathered, i.a. "Witte Singel, Leiden, April 1877", "Piramide van Austerlitz. Aug 1877", "Piet Gijzenbrug en Noordwijkerhout. 6 Juni 1879" and "Duifhuislaantje 3 Jan. 1881". Nice compositions.
