- Slightly yellowed. = Printed from the original plate (1670) in 1923 for the art revue "Byblis."
- All sl. foxed.
- Sl. fingersoiled in margins; sm. waterstain in lower left corner of lower margin.
- Somewhat soiled.
= Rare, not found in any reference works. Copy in reverse of Hollstein (Sadeler) 198. Part of a series of (6?) allegorical prints representing the Five Senses. Thomas de Leu copied various other prints of Sadeler after Vos. The spelling of the copy was crudely copied. It should read: "(...)perspectat acute".
- Closed tear (±2,5 cm.) near the left edge and in the lower right corner (±1 cm., w. loss of image); repair near the lower left corner; upper margin trimmed short (±1 mm within the image), otherwise cut on the borderline; sl. yellowed; verso soiled.
= New Hollstein 40, prob. 1st state (of 2), but printed from a slightly worn plate. On 16th century laid paper with a watermark showing a crowned "L" flanked by two fleur-de-lis, all within a crowned shield. Cf. Briquet 8287 (this type of watermark is commonly found in paper from the first half of the 16th century). SEE ILLUSTRATION PLATE LXXXV.
- Cut to the image; laid down on mount; sm. closed hole in the mantle of the figure to the left; sl. soiled.
= New Hollstein 50, 2nd state of 3.
- A few tiny foxed spots; thin spot in left margin. = New Hollstein 97b.
- Cut to/ just outside the borderline; professionally detached from former mount. = New Hollstein 90b.
- Professionally detached from former mount; some soiling; lower edge sl. worn/ trifle dam. (occas. just touching the borderline).
= New Hollstein 87b.
- Fine, trimmed just outside the platemark. = Hollstein 53, 3rd state of 3. SEE ILLUSTRATION PLATE LXXXVI.
- Trimmed on the platemark; a few spots strengthened on verso w. very thin paper. Fine copy.
= On 17th century laid paper. Hollstein 77. Rare. With the partial collector's mark of Friedrich August II of Saxony (Lugt 972) on recto and part of an unidentified stamp on verso. SEE ILLUSTRATION PLATE LXXXVI.
- Fine, dark impression. = Rare. Hollstein 8, 6th state (of 6), w. the initials. SEE ILLUSTRATION PLATE LXXXVI.
- Sl. worn (especially sky section). Some vague foxing (especially on verso); verso w. paper tape along outer margins.
= Mannocci 9, the first state (of 4). Rare and fine early impression on Italian laid paper with watermark of a crown topped by a star (Heawood 1120, 1618 and until ±1650). SEE ILLUSTRATION PLATE LXXXVII.
= I.a. a series of 4 engravings of men in various professions by S. Elmer (1x signed in the plate), a circular engraving of a dec. garden by C. Galle and 3 cut-out engravings of men playing instruments.
- Some sl. yellowed. = Comprises i.a. 5 col. lithographs of the Crimean War

- Four etchings with reduced margins, all others w. original leaf size (28,5x45,5 cm.).
= "Vooral Jacob Ernst Marcus dient te worden vermeld. Van 1807 tot 1816 gaf hij elke maand een prent uit, totaal 105 stuks (...) Marcus plaatst geen Griekse goden en godinnen in zijn landschappen, maar mensen, zo uit het werkelijke leven van die tijd weggelopen" (Grafiek in de 19e eeuw, p.19).
- Flattened vertical central fold.
= Shows a square in an Italian town or city, where masked people are celebrating carnival or Lent. Hollstein 361 and New Hollstein 219, 3rd state of 3. This print is part of a series of 12 months: February, September, November and December were engraved by Matham, Hondius engraved four other plates (January, April, May and July) and Andries Stock the remaining. The first state was printed and published by Hondius.
