= Attractive drawings of i.a. a small bird on a branch behind harvested grass and two fighting sparrows beneath flowers.
= Probably part of a larger series of vols. on all sorts subjects: battles, actors, plays, mythical stories, pastimes for women etc.
- Binding holes in right hand margin of each print.
= Two decorative prints for advertising pamphlets for the New and Old calendar year of Meiji 36 (1903). The specific advertisement could be entered in the empty section of the print.
- Fine. = Probably part of a diptych or triptych.
Terazaki (1866-1919). (Fresh green leaves). Col. woodcut kuchi-e, signed Kôgyô, with artist's seal, without publisher.
- Two vaguely visible horizontal folds. Otherwise fine.
- Left margin trimmed to borderline of the block; doubled.
Idem. (Three women gathered around a blossoming cherry tree). Col. woodcut ôban, signed yôshû Chikanobu, from the series Niju-shi Ko Mitate E-awase (Allusion to twenty-four Paragons of Filial Piety), publisher Hasegawa Hisaharu.
- Thin spot stretching into image in upper left corner; some vague traces of ink bleeding in faces and kimonos.
- Left blank margins sl. trimmed (not affecting the woodcut).
Idem. (Nii no Naishi visits Hino Suketoshi). Col. woodcut ôban w. gauffrage, signed yôshû Chikanobu hitsu, publisher Tsunashima Kamekichi.
- Doubled.
= From the series Azuma Nishiki Chuya Kurabe (Edo embroidery pictures, Comparison of day and night).
- Soiled; closed holes. Strengthened on verso w. thin Japanese.
= Probably a later(?) recarved or variant edition with different decoration in the garments. Cf. Pins, Pillar Prints 853. With annotation in pencil on verso "Kyonaga" (probably a wrong attribution) and " Damman-1925" (sale?).
- Soiled and yellowed; stains of a former passepartout along edges; strengthened on verso with thin Japanese.
= Japanese (collector's?) stamp on verso. With manuscript prices and annotation "Damman 1925" (sale?) in pencil on verso.
