- Sl. foxed/ stained; some vertical creases.
= Van der Krogt/ Koeman I, 7130:1.1. Showing Mantua situated in the middle of three artificial lakes, created in the 12th century as the city's defence system.
AND 1 other publ. by the same: "Reipublicae Genuensis Ducatus et Dominii Nova Descrip." (±1640).
- Two sm. brown stains; nevertheless fine.

- A few trifle browned areas; nevertheless in good condition with attractive colouring.

- Binding sl. rubbed along extremities.
= Provenance: owner's stamp on title-p. of Count Attems, who was the "Landeshauptmann" of Steiermark. Rare series of views. The beautiful colouring of the views is so good that each view appears to be a small watercolour of high quailty.
- Some irregular browning. = Impressive large view of the Aventine hill. SEE ILLUSTRATION PLATE XC.
- Small annots. of place names on map 2, 5, 6 and 7; mouldy area on map 3; sl. sunned. Place names annotated on front covers.
= Inset plans on some of the maps.
- Heavily wormholed, laid down on later paper. Boards sl. chafed and soiled.
= Route map of Japan, showing the distances between various towns and cities, bearing the censor seal of Murata Heiemon.
- Slightly washed; a few foxed spots; nevertheless a fine copy.
= Van der Krogt/ Koeman I, 8450:1A.1; Cortazzi 26; Walter 22; Campbell 7. Famous and beautiful map after Luis Teixeira, first published in Ortelius' Theatrum, 1595. Korea is shown as an island, but Hondius doubts in Latin text (not present on the Ortelius version) whether this is correct. He adds that the Koreans in war are energetic, but cruel and barbarous ("In bello sunt strenui sed crudeles et barbari"). SEE ILLUSTRATION PLATE XC.

MÜNSTER, Cosmographia, ±1550), "De Stadt Musschate in Arabie" (engr. view, from J. NIEUHOF, Gedenkweerdige Brasiliaense Zee- en Lant-Reize, 1682), "Kochin" (engr. view by C. DE BRUYN, ±1750) and "Vigos tweede gesicht; vertoonende het verbreeken van den boom" (engr. view, from P. SCHENK, Schouwtoneel van den oorlog, 1730).
- Slightly yellowed; a few foxed spots/ vague vertical creases.

- Trifle foxed.
= The central map from a set of three, stretching from Italy and the Dalmatian coast to North Africa. The North oriented to the left.
- Partly split on fold (closed); vague oblique fold in lower left corner; nevertheless fine.
= Van den Broecke 13; Van der Krogt/ Koeman IIIB, 9510:31. The first map of Mexico published in an atlas. SEE ILLUSTRATION PLATE XCI.
- Occas. trifle soiled; a few restored blank margins; 1x w. right margin trimmed just outside the border line (±1 mm); occas. closed marginal tears. Still an attractive set.
