"Het Syst-o-color systeem is in de eerste plaats gebouwd op visueel regelmatig oplopende kleurtoonwaarden, die in de druktechniek relatief eenvoudig te bereiken zijn. (...) Door systematische rangschikking van kleuren en toonwaarden in combinaties, waaruit de invloed van de ene kleur op de andere duidelijk waarneembaar is, is het mogelijk op efficiënte wijze te bereiken wat de ontwerper zich heeft voorgesteld als eindresultaat van zijn creatie, nl. de kleur die in reproductie het door hem gewenste effect heeft.
