= Sinica Leidensia 62. First authorized reprint after the original edition, which was privately issued by the author in 50 copies only in Tokyo in 1951 and distributed among a few selected libraries by the author. The highly interesting new introductions to this edition cast doubts as to the authenticity of the erotic prints used by Van Gulik as examples for the study and imply that he created (most of) them himself in antique style.
