= Signed by the author in pen on verso of the title-page below printed "Tous les Exemplaires sont signés par l'Auteur". Most of the copies we traced were without signature (or the signature was not mentioned in the description of those copies). Gay 2910; cf. Kainbacher p.96 (German ed., 1820); Henze III, p.509: "Unbenommen bleibt ihm das Verdienst die Quellen der Hauptflüsse Senegambiens aufgedeckt zu haben." SEE ILLUSTRATION PLATE LX.

= La Coltivazione (first publ. in Paris, 1546) by Luigi Alamanni (1495-1556), was written in imitation of Virgilius' Georgics and is considered his best poem.

With at the end: "Lijst der schepen, welke sedert den 24 december 1715, tot het einde des jaars 1724 door de Algiersche roovers van den staat der vereenigde Nederlanden genomen zyn." - Hinges and folds occas. strengthened w. paper or professional restoration tape; last section w. repaired tear with on lower left corner small section lacking; sl. offsetting from the handcolouring as usual. Flaps of portfolio strengthened/ repaired on hinges.
= One of the longest panoramas ever published. Splendid publication that shows the grandeur of Wellingtons state funeral procession with more than 10,000 marchers, from every regiment of the British Army, as well as officers representing the Bengal Army, the Madras Army and the Bombay Army of the East India Company. From the library of the English collector and designer Pickford Waller with his bookplate on upper pastedown. SEE ILLUSTRATION PLATE LXII.

= Apart from the almanac, this copy contains the rare "'t Gemeene best der fraaije dwergen, die niemands oogen zullen tergen, maar daar 't gezicht, dat kunst bemint, een wezendlyk vermaak in vindt" (w. 15 woodcut ills. of caricatural dwarves, i.a. "Angenietje Tapgraag", "Idiotus Pedantus", "Naerstige Neeltje" and "Winandus Windzak") and "Korte Kronyk, Beginnende van den Jare 1711" (woodcut title-vignette). SEE ILLUSTRATION PLATE LXIII.

= Bondy p.55: "Amongst the almanacs printed in the Netherlands, the very finely produced De Kleine Tijdwijzer, of Jufferlijke Almanach is outstandingly attractive." Cf. The Children's World of Learning 2663 (1792); Welsh 4158-4160 (1783, 1791 and 1795); Jacobsen Jensen 1273 (1783, 1787 and 1790); not in Spielmann. The second edition (first 1693-94) of the best 17th cent. description of Amsterdam, based on the works by the predecessors Dapper and Van Domselaar and on materials furnished by the author's father Isaac Commelin. The author (1636-1693) had free access to the archives of the city and therefore his work contains much more reliable sources and official documents than the works by Dapper and Van Domselaar.
- Lacks 15 plates; partly sl. yellowed (incl. some of the plates, possibly taken from another copy); frontisp. bound in vol. 2. Bindings sl. worn and chafed; corners showing.
