Album amicorum of ARNOLD LANG, mainly Altdorf, Jena and Wittenberg, 1575-1606, 247 lvs., comprising 63 contributions incl. 22 gouaches of coats of arms (incl. 1 w. a pike man), most lvs. recto or verso only, contemp. blindst. pigskin leather over wooden boards, frontcover blindst. = A very interesting album amicorum compiled by Arnoldus Lang, probably a student at the university of Nurnberg ("Arnoldo Langio Noribergensi"). It appears several smaller leaves were added later. After collation it is not clear how the album was originally compiled. At least 40 contributions are dated 1575, i.a. Maximilian in Curia; Barthol. Pömer, Gabriel Baumgarten, Wolfgang Prandtner, Matthias Löffelholz; Gabriel Stümpfel, Jeremias Bardt, Georg Stöckel, M. Wolfgang Hegius, Conrad Sattler, Johann Pictorius, Joh. Rager, Wolf Waldung, Valentin Arnoldt and Christoph Resch. Not mentioned in W. Klose, Corpus alborum amicorum. Goldmann gives a description in Nürnberger und Altdorfer Stammbücher aus vier Jahrhunderten, no.925: "eine kleinere Anzahl kleiner Widmungsbl. sind zwischen die größeren eingeklebt". Provenance: C.G. Boerner 1911, no.19 (sale Stammbücher-sammlung Friedrich Warnecke). SEE ILLUSTRATION PLATE CXXII.
