- The worldmap strengthened on verso on a worn (and formerly split?) fold; the maps of Hungary and Greece foxed, Greece also w. a sm. closed tear in left margin; the map of Martinique a few vague false folds in right half. A few maps sl. yellowed/ foxed; professionally done reattachment of maps on later stubs. Binding a few rubbed patches and some unobtrusive and minor restorations along margins. A very fine and complete copy in an impressive binding.

= All maps numb. in near contemp. hand in blank upper right corner. A rare, complete atlas in its original composition. Koeman 3, p.164: Vis 8: "(...) Most of the maps are by Claes Jansz. and Nicolaes Visscher, but some are by F. de Wit and Joh. Janssonius" (our copy contains 37 maps not by Visscher but mostly by F. de Wit and Joh. Janssonius).
