74/2330 Utrecht Manuscript charter regarding botanist Magdalena Poulle
74/2330 [Utrecht]. Manuscript charter regarding botanist Magdalena Poulle, pen and ink on vellum, dated 19 November 1683, recto only, (dam.) wax and embossed paper seal attached.

= In 1680, Magdalena Poulle, widow of merchant Adraen Daem, buys the ruin of Gunterstein in Breukelen and rebuilds the house. She starts to collect exotic plants and has a heated oranjerie (greenhouse) built, which makes her one of the first private collectors to have a modern greenhouse in which the plants survive the cold Dutch weather. In the deed of transport of 1683, a piece of land of the "huijse Ruwwiel" is sold to Magdalena Poulle, "Vrouwe van de ridderhoffstadt Gruntesteijn".

AND one other non-related manuscript letter on paper, regarding De Bilt, dated 26 January 1823.
