76/2048 [Bindings]. Two 17th cent. full vellum large folio bindings, orig. used for atlases (but now containing only text lvs., the first incl. a handcol. title-p. "Geographie Blaviane, contenant l'Amerique (...)"), both vols. gilt panelled overlapping vellum w. corner ornaments and large mirror ornament (one reading "O.F.V.S.") within double floral borders on both covers, gilt spine, compartments w. rosets and fleur-de-lis/ floral cornerpieces. - AND a 17th cent. mottled calf binding, orig. used for Mercator and Hondius' Atlas minor (but containing only text lvs.), gilt spine w. central fleur-de-lis ornaments.

- Contents not collated; (occas.) browned/ (heavily) foxed. First two vols. binding sl. rubbed/ stained; lacks ties; third binding frontcover loose; backstrip loose/ dam. Sold w.a.f.

= First binding originally used for vol.12 of Blaeu's Grand Atlas (1667, Van der Krogt/ Koeman II, p.381): second binding originally used for vol.5 of Jansonius' Nouvel Atlas (1657, Van der Krogt/ Koeman I, p.341); third binding originally used for Mercator's and Hondius' Atlas minor (1608/ 1613?).
