Late 18th/ early 19th cent. tortoise-shell binding, 12x6,8 cm., with 2 chiselled silver clasps and catches, 4 silver corner-pieces, 2 silver hinges across backstrip (all with floral motif) and silver spine-ends by an unidentified silversmith, a.e.g., silk endpapers, 12mo. - ON (later inserted): THE BOOK OF COMMON PRAYER (...) (Oxford, Univ. Press., 1867).

- Silverwork needs polishing; bookblock loose(ning).

= Attractive chiselled silver fittings, with the initials "S.M." engraved on the inside of the upper clasp.
