= Yonnie Scheidius came from a well-to-do family that lived at Menthenberg near Arnhem. She apparently left home for England in 1915. The first part consists of farewell wishes by her family and friends (mainly in English and French), as well as about 20 entries by tennis friends on occasion of a tournament played at Noordwijk in August 1915. Later on she lived in the UK (betwen 1916-1919) and visited the Watermouth Convalescent Home for wounded officers in October 1916. The snapshots show scenes at Watermouth Castle with nurses and convalescing officers as well as views of the countryside and neighbouring villages.
