= Nissen, ZBI 678; Pivetau 150. This complete set consists of 38 parts., with the "Oiseaux" (9 vols.), the "Quadrupèdes ovipares et serpents" (2 vols.), "les Mineraux" (5 vols.) and 7 suppl. vols. Originally published Paris 1749-1804, this Dutch edition with French text was enlarged by J.N.S. Allamand, not containing the vols. on fishes and whales, which were published later. Of this Dutch edition only 200 copies were published. The plates are engraved by Sève. SEE ILLUSTRATION PLATE LVII.
