77/1242 Haan, J.I. de. Pijpelijntjes (het leven van Cor Koning en Felix Deelman). Amst., Jacq. van Cleef, 1904, 2nd rev. ed., (4),226,(2)p., orig. gilt blue cl., t.e.g.

- Sl. yellowed. Good/ fine copy.

= This second edition, published in November 1904, was revised by De Haan after the first edition was heavily criticised by i.a. Arnold Aletrino and P.L. Tak for its homo-erotic content and was withdrawn from trade. That first edition, published in June 1904, was dedicated to Aletrino and he recognized himself as the character "Sam" in the novel. After being pressed by his editor, De Haan decided to substitute the dedication with a motto by Catullus and change the names of the main characters, but the homo-erotic content was slightly accentuated.
