= Perhaps to a Dutch recipient (a gardener or a nursery man), on verso a Dutch contemporary annotation "R [monogram ]1 maart R. factverz." suggesting the recipient replied on March 1 and sent an invoice. On receiving plants he bought for his famous garden in Giverny: "J'ai bien votre lettre m'annoncerat l'envoi des plantes que je vous ai demandé (...)", i.a. "pour la culture des iris Kaempferi".
