77/1985 [Art]. Schelfhout, L. (1881-1943). AUTOGRAPH LETTER SIGNED "je Toegenegenen Lodewijk Schelfhout" to "Beste Beb", dated "Amsterdam 1932. Vrijdag middag", pen and ink, 1 leaf, recto only, watercol. drawing of a man in a blue raincoat wearing a tophat, folded twice.

= Possibly addressed to Bernardus Antonius Johannes ("Beb") Reith (1894-1974), discussing i.a. the latter's trip to Budapest, an exhibition "in de zaak" on Italian ceramics, gothic statues and furniture that Schelfhout helped organize, his visiting a performance by Maria Ivogün in the Concertgebouw and the upcoming exhibition on Hilversum painters, "nog wel liefst 22 stuks, ik wist niet dat er zoovele waren". The watercolour is possibly a self-portrait.

AUTOGRAPH card, pen and ink, 2 handcol. drawings, pen and ink, red/ orange/ blue pencil, recto and verso, depicting a winged angel on top of a cloud ("mocht ik je niet meer zien dan in de Hemel. derde wolk links naast Garbo"; possibly another self-portrait)/ a lady carrying a pile of books on her back ("Daar het heel niet staat een Dame met bontjas te zien sjouwen zendt [sic] ik je de boeken per bode.").
