"Willem Frederik Lokhorst" (conscription document dated Amst., 1888); "Gerret Smit" (manuscript extract from the records of the Protestant Church of Antwerp, dated Amst., 1850); a passport for "Gerrit Martinus Cornelis Smit marchand, natif d'Amsterdam et demeurant à Baarn" for entry into Germany (The Hague, 1914, with mounted photograph of mr Smit); a (dam.) death certificate of "David Benning, 1e Machinist op het Stoomschip Ulyses" (with manuscript annot. in pen and ink reading: "Velzen, aangespoeld 4 febr./ begr. Wijk a/Zee 5 febr./ begr. Oosterbegr.pl. 10 febr. lett. D n.24") and a "Bewijs van Inschrijving" of "Johannes Philippus Benning, Grietje Stellemaker, Echtelieden, (...) op de inname van kinderen in het Burger-Weeshuis (...)
