79/2141 [Calligraphy]. Monogrammist J.v.D. (late 18th/ early 19th cent.). "Een onvermoeide Arbeid komt alles te boven." Calligraphy, consisting of a central panel w. calligraphed text in pen and black ink, surrounded by richly decorated ornamental border w. 4 medaillons showing the entrance to an estate, a resting traveller, a charging cavallery man on a battlefield and a traveller on foot, within a richly decorated floral and ornamental border, 34x27,5 cm., monogrammed below "J.v.D" and "1800", framed.

- Small repaired tear in left margin. Not examined out of frame.

= Possibly made for the mathematical society "Koninklijk Wiskundig Genootschap", founded in 1778 which carries the device "Een onvermoeide Arbeid komt alles te boven". From the collection of P.J. and L. Buijnsters-Smets. SEE ILLUSTRATION PLATE LXXIX.
