G. de Groot, 1711 (1st part)/ 1708 (2nd part), 2 parts in 1 vol., 157,(3); 170,(6)p., contemp. richly decorated vellum w. two differently decorated central panels on "frontcovers": frontcover of the first part: a (mostly rubbed off) blacked stamped central oval ornament with a lady(?) holding a shield in front of her, surrounded by a stylized oval guirlande within a leafy border and within a rectangular panel with black stamped corner fleurons, within double rectangular floral borders w. simple painted green marbling pattern; frontcover of the second part: a black stamped central oval ornament with a lady holding a basket(?) and standing on a ship's anchor, surrounded by an oval leafy border and w. a circular support below showing a bird, within a rectangular panel w. black stamped corner fleurons, within double rectangular floral borders w. simple painted green marbling pattern, both spines w. 5 compartments each w. repeated black stamped floral decoration, two silver filigrain clasps and catches, the clasps showing a bird surrounded by foliage, w. Amsterdam hallmark "IS" (either Jean Saint or Jacobus Sas) on inside of catches, a.e.g., obl. 16mo.
- Upper hinge of bookblock of the second part broken. Decoration on the frontcover to the first part partly almost worn off; vellum adjecent to the clasps darkened. Otherwise a fine copy.
